This service focuses on out-of-network or non-PPO claims. Claims include, but not limited to inpatient/outpatient hospital, physician, dialysis center, air ambulance, durable medical equipment and chemotherapy bills.
When out-of-network or non-PPO bills are screened for audit potential, the screener may determine some bills may be good candidates for negotiation. The bill will be referred to the EPI negotiators who contact the provider for a possible agreed upon discount in lieu of audit.
On claims involving continued patient care such as dialysis or chemotherapy we will negotiate a specific patient agreement for a standing discount for all future claims.
With EPI’s extensive database we are aware of many hospitals or physicians history in respect to negotiating discounts.
EPI obtains a signed agreement from the provider with the understanding that payment will be received by the provider within an agreed upon time frame. If there is no savings there is no charge with turnaround within 48 to 72 hours.
Our negotiation fee never exceeds $500, which enables our clients to realize added savings.
